It is a portmanteau of 'upgrade' and 'recycle' and refers to a further step evolved from 'recycle'
that involves adding artistic value to discarded goods and regenerating them into new works or products.
With the keen interest garnered from overseas since 2018,
we have showcased the works of Korean upcycle artists in countries such as Germany and Italy.
On the heels of these consistent challenge-taking and concerted efforts, in 2019,
we were selected for the Public contest hosted by Gyeonggi-do Province to expand and operate the Gyeonggi Cultural Creation Hub,
as we strive to provide art, culture, and class services, as well as support for startups focusing on upcycling and eco-design.
Gwangmyeong Upcycle Art Center has been transformed into a hub for upcycling and eco-design startups by providing multi-faceted support such as space, commercialization funds, startup classes, distribution and sales channel support to prospective entrepreneurs who want to start upcycling and eco-friendly businesses
